The objective of this paper is to promote a discussion about the relationship between Web 2.0 and the knowledge production in the contemporaneity, and its implications for the digital literacy issue. To do so, I look for making a brief sociohistorical route of the graphocentric culture, by focusing since the appearance of typographic writing to the many social, historical, economic, political, and technological transformations occurred in the end of 20th Century. Hence, I discuss particularly about Web 2.0 and show how changes inherent to the passage from Web 1.0 to Web 2.0 have brought fundamental implications for the digital literacy issue, and for the own notion of knowledge.
