Abstract

Having Dialectology and Sociolinguistic’s theoretical and methodological suppositions as an initial framework, this paper intends to present some preliminary data concerning Angola’s linguistic diversity in a post-colonial context. Our aim is to delineate the complex linguistic relation between more then forty aboriginal languages - substrate languages - and portuguese national variety - superstrate, transcontinental and pluricentric language. Therefore, we wish to contribute to a diagnostic of the portuguese language expansion where it is adopted as an official language.
