Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

    The contribution is original and unpublished and is not being evaluated for publication by another journal; otherwise, it should be justified in "Editor Comments".
    The submission file is in Microsoft Word, OpenOffice or RTF format.
    URLs for referrals were informed when possible.
    The text is in simple space; uses a 12-point font; uses italic instead of underlining (except URL addresses); the figures and tables are inserted in the text, not at the end of the document in the form of attachments.
    The text follows the style standards and bibliographic requirements described in Guidelines for authors on the About Journal page.
    In case of submission to a peer-reviewed section (for example, articles), the instructions available on Ensuring the blind peer evaluation were followed.
    It is up to the writer to guarantee respect for copyrights, quotations, illustrations, images, graphics, etc.
    There are no shipping or processing fees for items.

Author Guidelines

Authors guidelines for submission of articles or book reviews
Confluência accepts original articles and written in Portuguese, English, French, Italian and Spanish. In the event of co-authoring, one of the co-authors must hold a doctoral title. Exceptionally, with the authorization of the Editorial Board, the author's contribution is accepted without the required degree. Proposals will be submitted to the evaluation of two members of the Editorial Board or two external evaluators. In the event of a conflict of opinion among the evaluators, a third opinion shall be provided by a member of the Editorial Board. Articles should not exceed 25 pages and scholarly book reviews 8 pages. Only full book reviews are accepted: books, collections, dictionaries, theses, the full number of the journal etc. Proposals must be submitted in a file with extension doc, in Times New Roman 12 normal font.
Pages should be set up on A4 paper, a justified paragraph with 1 cm indent on the first line, single space between lines and between paragraphs, 3 cm margins, without page numbering.
1. Pre-textual elements.
1.1. Title and subtitle, in the original language and in English, in the first line, centralized, capital letters, font Times New Roman 12.
1.2. ABSTRACT, RÉSUMÉ, SOMMARIO, RESUMEN in the fourth line below the title in capital letters followed by a colon. The ABSTRACT, RÉSUMÉ, SOMMARIO, RESUMEN text should be in the line below, with about 150 words in single space, a justified paragraph in Times New Roman font 10.
1.3. KEYWORDS, MOTS CLÉS, PAROLE CHIAVE, PALABRAS CLAVE in three to five words, two lines below the abstract. You should write KEYWORDS with capital letters followed by a colon, font Times New Roman 10.
1.4. If the original language is not English, the author should provide the ABSTRACT and the KEYWORDS according to the same rules of 1.3.
2. Textual elements.
2.1. Times New Roman font 12, justified alignment.
2.2. Simple spacing between lines and paragraphs, double between parts of text (tables, illustrations, featured quotes, sections, etc.)
2.3. Paragraphs with 1cm first-line indents.
2.4. Citations up to three lines are enclosed in double quotation marks. Citations with more than three lines are highlighted in the following format: Times New Roman font 10, single spacing, with a 2.5 cm indentation. References should be indicated in parentheses, as in the example (BECHARA, 1999, p. 45).
2.5. Footnotes should be written in Times New Roman font 10, with justified alignment and single spacing.
2.6. Titles and subheadings should be numbered in Arabic numerals, without paragraph indentation, in the sequential system (1.1, 1.1.1, 1.2, 1.2.1 etc.), written in bold font on the first level and normal font in the other levels. Capital letters only in the first word. The introduction, conclusion, references and post-textual elements should not be numbered.
3. Illustrative elements.
Tables, figures, photos etc. must be numbered sequentially and identified with the title below the illustration in font 10. Only illustrations owned by the author or expressly authorized by the copyright holder will be published.
4. References should be arranged in alphabetical order of the surname of the first author and follow the Brazilian ABNT NBR 6023 directions. If the book or paper is translated, it is necessary to provide the name of the translator.
